Event Details

The Kansas Wetlands Education Center is gearing up for its annual "Out of this World" Perseid Meteor Shower Watch Party.  Our date will hit the peak of the month-long meteor shower with stargazers having the chance to spot up to 60-100 meteors per hour.  

Come out to the KWEC on Friday August 11 from 8:30-10:30pm.  This free, family-friendly activity will include space-themed crafts, science experiments, planetarium shows, games, and this year, special black-light chemistry experiments set up in our auditorium.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for comfortable sky watching.  Be sure to visit our fire pit for the time honored summer tradition of roasting smore's!
