Events at Kansas Wetlands Education Center

Get the latest information about what’s going on at Cheyenne Bottoms Wildlife Area from KS Department of Wildlife Parks & Tourism staff.  Staff will report on the conditions of Cheyenne Bottoms, what projects have been completed this past summer, and forecast the upcoming hunting seasons. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Duck hunting season begins on Saturday, October 13 for the Low Plains Early Zone, which includes Cheyenne Bottoms Wildlife Area.  Cheyenne Bottoms offers premier waterfowl hunting opportunities and the strong traditions that go with those hunts.  The season also welcomes many out of town hunters into the local communities. Join the staff of the Kansas Wetlands Education Center in celebrating the Christmas season with a Holiday Open House from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Dec. 1. While the kids decorate gingerbread birdhouses, adults can take advantage of specials in the gift shop and enter a contest for a $50 gift certificate.
