Events at Kansas Wetlands Education Center

Spend the evening with the FHSU Astronomy Club looking at the night sky!  FHSU students will lead you on a tour of various objects visible with telescopes, binoculars, and even with the naked eye.  This free program is open to the public and no registration is required. Dress warm and come enjoy a night of learning about the stars!

Join the staff of the Kansas Wetlands Education Center in celebrating the Christmas season with a Holiday Open House from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Dec. 7. While the kids decorate gingerbread birdhouses, adults can take advantage of specials in the gift shop and enter a contest for a $50 gift certificate. The Cheyenne Bottoms Christmas Bird Count is scheduled on Monday, December 16 from 8am until 4pm.  All ages and abilities are welcome to participate and there is no charge. Participation for at least half of the day is recommended. A lunch will be provided to participants courtesy of the KWEC and The Nature Conservancy.
