Earth Day 2013

Mobilize the EarthEach year near the end of April, Earth Day is celebrated.  Around this day, more than one billion people around the globe will participate in Earth Day events. People of all nationalities and backgrounds will voice their appreciation for the planet and demand its protection. Together we will stand united for a sustainable future and call upon individuals, organizations, and governments to do their part.

Celebrate Earth Day 2013 at the Kansas Wetlands Education Center on Sunday, April 21 from 1:30-5pm. Join our Earth Day activities to explore the ways we can protect our planet to ensure a healthy and prosperous future for our children.

This event is FREE and open to all ages.

Schedule of Events

  • 2:00pm– Recyclable Kite Contest (See links below)
  • 2:30pm– “Go Fly a Kite!” – All are invited to fly their favorite kites
  • 3:30pm-Raffle prize drawings
  • 4:00 pm– Rehabbed Bird of Prey Release (contigent upon bird’s health)
